The
exhibition, designed for Venice’s 2004 Architecture Biennale by
curators Luciano Semerani, Antonella Gallo and Giovanni Marras,
was set up anew at MASP, receiving 83,000 visitors. With 200 artworks
including drawings, architectural models, watercolors, sketches,
furniture, scenographic pieces, industrial design, editorial production
and popular art, the exhibition presented countless studies realized
by Lina up to her death, in 1992. The aim was to visually represent
Lina’s artistic and architectural thought, emphasizing the freedom
of architecture that was the basis of her work.
A folder, with photos of the exhibition (by Nelson Kon) and texts
by curators and by Prof. Renato Anelli (of the Department of Architecture
and Urbanism of the School of Engineering of São Carlos – University
of São Paulo), was published on the occasion, and is available
for purchase at the Institute. (48 pages, R$ 10.00).
