In
the month of March 2006 the workshop Conservation and Cleaning
of Marble Sculptures was held at the Lina Bo and P.M. Bardi Institute,
in partnership with the Círculo dos Antiquários de São Paulo [Antique
Dealers Circle of São Paulo]. Fifteen professionals in the field
of conservation and restoration of art objects were able to brush
up on their knowledge and learn new techniques, enabling them
to execute future work in marble conservation in Brazil. During
the workshop, work was carried out on the cleaning and conservation
of the Roman statue Diana the Hunter, an artwork dating from 1
A.D., belonging to the collection of the Lina Bo and P.M. Bardi
Institute. The workshop was taught by Prof. Dr. Piero Frizzi,
who teaches at Palazzo de Spinelli, in Florence, Italy.
