What is the Institute's mission |
 |
The
Institute strives to follow in the footsteps of the Bardis who,
in addition to their name, donated to the country the resultant
efforts of a lifetime of dedicated work for the arts and culture/
This result was achieved by following Pietro's philosophy: that
"The important thing is moving in these circles thinking about others
more than about yourself".
Cultural objectives
• To preserve and spread the Bardi's work in publications,
exhibits, lectures, discussions and readings.
• To support projects which promote Brazilian arts and architecture.
• Stimulate interchanges among Brazilian and foreign intellectuals
and artists.
• To discuss the values of the provided activities with community,
settling a constructive dialogue and defending the freedom to think,
create and debate.
Educational objectives
• To compose a library with works which are references in
the areas of arts and architecture.
• To organize files concerning the work of the Bardis -drawings,
plans, projects, mail, documents and others.
• To organize educational activities with destitute communities
to help generate interest in arts and rational architecture as a
solution to urban chaos.
Spacial Objectives
• To restore and adapt the Glass House so that it can become
the headquarters of the Institute. Open the Glass House to public
visits and provide access to the Bardi's collection, to the files,
the library and to a small auditorium.
•To offer society a place of acquaintance, culture, and leisure
that is able to stimulate dialogue, thought and meetings.
Social objectives
To contribute with social projects whose intention is to increase
the quality of life, especially in the urban environment, offering
a place to join the involved institutions. |
